"Play is our brain's favorite way of learning." - Diane Ackerman
I’ve been able to design a schedule and incorporate research-based teaching strategies that mask learning as playing. Research confirms that movement-based teaching, integrating physical activity into lessons, enhances cognitive functions like memory, focus, and problem-solving by increasing brain oxygenation and neurotransmitters, leading to better engagement and retention. By incorporating gymnastics or open gym daily, students are encouraged to socialize and try new skills, building their confidence. The focus for will be centered around foundational kindergarten skills including: phonological awareness, letter and sound recognition, name writing, and number recognition and writing 1-20. Each game will be in 15 minute increments with movement incorporated throughout and tied to specific learning objectives. Since the classes will be so small, we’ll be able to individualize educational needs on a student by student basis.
Meet our founder
Hi I'm Kara Church! I'm currently a Vice Principal at an intermediate bilingual school in eastern Oregon and have 12 years of educational experience. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Elementary Education with a minor in English as a Second Language and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. I have three kids, ages three to six, who are my inspiration for this school. As a teacher, I would blend movement into my lesson and now am able to found a preschool built on the core belief that when students move, they have more fun, engage their brain, and learn concepts quicker.
